Goals are dreams actualized and are achievable by anyone at any stage of life. Setting, following and achieving goals creates the ideal life path for every person on this planet. Goals provide a sensible roadmap that increases efficiency, productivity, success and satisfaction in life, while simultaneously minimizing stress. Goals are amazing contributors to good health and overall wellness of mind, body and spirit.
Without goals, people meander throughout life. They might have lots of dreams and desires, but demonstrate no roadmap to achieve these aspirations. Instead of realizing their desires, they become frustrated, envious, and despondent, feeling that all of life’s rewards are being held just above their heads. People who do not set goals do not achieve. It is that simple. They simply exist and are constantly bombarded by the stresses of life which pose the nagging questions: “What should I do doing now? Am I doing the right thing?”
Failure to set goals is acceptance of defeat before the battle begins. Ironically, people do not set goals because they believe that this will cause them too much pressure to succeed. Meanwhile, the opposite is wholly true. With goals, every person has a clear pathway to follow. There is no pressure to reach the destination, only the imperative to follow the path. There is no stress. When goals are not set, people proverbially walk in the dark. They are moving, but have no idea where they are going or what to do when they get there. They are random and chaotic, and this lifestyle leads to major consternation in the subconscious. Results in the real world are poor and often disastrous at so many levels.
To set a goal is to accept that one’s path should have purpose. The goal can be simple or complex. It can be met within a matter of minutes or might take a lifetime of work. However, goals should be set. Commitments should be made. Goals build excellent character traits, improve confidence and reinforce self-esteem and a positive self image. Pursuing our goals is worthwhile unto itself. Achieving them is just the icing on the cake.
Goals are Dreams Actualized and Transformed
I have never met a person who did not have dreams. Everyone sees an ideal future for themselves and can create a perfect life scenario in their head. Everyone wants to do something and some people want to do virtually everything. Life presents such a rich tapestry of opportunity, but how do we set ourselves on the course to capitalize on these possibilities? We set goals, plain and simple. Goals are our dreams made real. The process is actually miraculous. We can imagine anything and set ourselves on the path towards actually achieving our most lofty desires. The more we do this, the better we get at it. We learn to set highly specific and achievable goals. We learn to set multi-tiered goals. We learn to strategize and implement the pathways towards succeeding in our goals. We become success machines. When we chase what we desire with a pure heart and a sound mind, we will always succeed. Time no longer becomes our enemy, but instead transforms into our friend. Time brings us ever-closer to our life objectives. As long as we have time, we should have goals.
